How to screen record on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch ?

Before the release of iOS 11, there are tons of third-party apps to record your screen on iPhone. These apps weren’t handy to screen record.

The capability of your iDevice is been extended With the release of iOS 11 version. There are other features like translate English into different languages, keyboard and Portrait Mode has been improved with new capabilities.

The screen recording is a handy option on your control center. Before this, you need to make few settings on your iPhone.


Add screen recording to control center: –

To make your screen recording option handy, you need to add it to the control center. Now Let’s see how to add the option to control center.

  1. Add Screen Recording to Control Center.
    Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls.

    Now scroll down till you find Screen Recording. Tap the ”+” button to add it to the control center.

  2. Open control center.

There you will find the screen recording icon. Now you are good to start screen recording.

 


How to start screen Recording: –

In the previous step, we have added the icon to the control center.

Now tap that icon to start recording your screen. The recording starts after the 3 seconds countdown. Here you can either turn on or off your microphone.

Now tap on ”start recording”

The iPhone starts to record your screen. To stop recording Tap on the icon in the control center or on the status bar which is in red color while recording. A pop-up will appear to confirm the action.

You can find the recordings in the Photos app.


 

Let’s clear Few Doubts: –

  1. Is this option for free? – Yes, it is, this feature comes with the update of the iOS 11.
  2. Does this support iPhone 5 s or 6?  –  Any device that is compatible with iOS 11 has this feature. The supported devices are iPhone 5S, 6, 6Plus, 6S, 6s Plus, SE, 7, 7Plus, 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X. The iPad devices Air, Air 2 and 5th-gen iPad, Mini 2, 3, 4, all iPad pros and iPod 6th- gen iPod touch.
  3. Can I record calls using this feature? – No, There is no option in this to record call. But try screen recording with the microphone turned on. This might work(I didn’t try).
